It depends on your likes and dislikes. I would consider collecting old gold Dutch ducats. Wanna know my reasons? Here it is: 1. you collect truly unique and beauty coins, not modern strikes for collectors 2. every coin has got its history, you learn a lot during collecting 3. this is also good investment - in knowledge as well as in gold 4. you got something really pretty. When you hold in hand 16th or early 17th century gold Dutch ducat, you feel it's not common coin  5. from all old gold ducats these are in really reasonable (low) prices yet, you can afford to buy one from time to time. 6. Dutch gold ducats are [for me] one of the most beautiful gold ducats in history, it's amazing that without significant changes in picture on both sides this coin is struck still. If you don't like Dutch gold ducats, I recommend you old hammered French gold coinage, but this is much more expensive than ducats mentioned above. I got info about expected price drop on all world coins, so keep it in mind as well. Got any more questions about gold Dutch ducats? Shoot here
