Ok Here goes, think maybe you might pass this hard earned lessons to all us newbies; "when in doubt, put it aside". As I have mentioned before, I have so very many boxes and bags of coinage think I will be a centurion before I am finished. Been eyeballing and sorting pennies now for almost 2 weeks, and of course still sorting my pocket change. Fair enough. my day is basically search, sort and look till my neck aches; rest and start over. (oh I am so very angry with myself)… This weekend had my 13 year old over and he wanted to look at some coins with me, fine got him interested in metal detecting now maybe coins …. he loves it. Back to the story, was so copper eyed I pulled out 6 rolls of Jefferson's … we went through them sorting dates putting in this pile and the next, trying to find CUDs and to the eye unusual things to the eye. WE found several and put them aside.... during this I found one that looked like a bowl no edging what so ever. we both thought this "cool" … didn't save it to the keeper pile; thinking maybe somebody just used it for ball bene hammer practice. Was not aware of what a Broad struck term meant or looked like. Just a minute ago, found out what and how they should look... Thought it unusual that the reverse showed no damage at all, the obverse was very nice except for the dish appearance without an edge and flat as a normal coin would be …. now I have no idea where it might be, did look at the coins we set aside and its not there. Moral of this story I guess would be to all of us newbies, when you question a coins appearance don't just pitch it.

So sorry but had the need to vent; I sure did learn my lesson.
