I just found another 2018-P listed on eBay that has the same die chip on the exterior left end of Monticello, but not the larger die chip found on mine that is much larger and more visible. https://m.ebay.com/itm/2018P-JEFFERSON-NICKEL-UNCIRCULATED-ERROR-die-defect-chip-reverse-69i/312181500395?hash=item48af77a9eb%3Ag%3A8EgAAOSwiHZbGKwc&_nkw=Jefferson+nickel+die+chip&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=p2489528.m4969.l1313 Clearly the eBay piece comes from an earlier die state on the same reverse die. The one I pulled from a roll yesterday obviously shows that the die continued to chip away at that end. It will be interesting to see if any later die state examples surface showing even more significant deterioration before this die was retired.
