Strike Through? Huge lump on reverse,,, but no PMD to obverse???

Discussion in 'Error Coins' started by Tired-of-Cards, Feb 27, 2013.

  1. Notice the BIG lump on left eagle wing/branch,, I expected to see a huge hole to obverse,, but nothing! Would this be considered a CUD? Strike Through? Or is it something else entirely? 006.jpg 008.jpg 009.jpg 010.jpg 011.jpg

    cpm9ball CANNOT RE-MEMBER

It wouldn't be a cud or a strikethrough, but considering the condition of the coin, I don't think it matters what it is.

    dsmith23 Gotta get 'em all

I would guess possibly heat damage.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

From the heating of the coin, causing gas between the clad layers to expand, deforming the metal.
