Well I'm not a strap searcher or a paper collector, but went to Wahlmart today and got a 1934 A series $5 bill in great condition. The issuing bank was Chicago. I know nothing about paper, but I plan on keeping this one.

I asked a teller today if i could see her mutilated bill pile, and she are you sure? their pretty nasty, i said yes and when she took the stack out i saw the old reverse of the $2 bill series! My heart skipped a beat and i said i already want to buy one of these. It is a 1928 D series $2 bill, edges ripped, folded in any way possible and looks like someone spilled coffee on it, but i love its character and am going to keep it. :D:D:D

Found my 50th star last week. Have been searching $1 straps since Feb last year. In that time have gone though $14.9K. As for my average that comes out to be 1 star for every $300 and this has been pretty consistant throughout the year. Anyone else with similar or better averages?

1 star for every $300 is about the same I get. I'm in the Bay Area too so I hope we do not go to the same banks.
    Good luck!

Today the teller gave me some new $5's and I noticed that it was close to a repeater and asked if she had anymore and sure enough she had the repeating serial! This is my second repeater I have found.

I got a 2004 $20 star note in change the other day, it's the first star note I've seen outside of this forum. It's not in the best condition, but I'm still pretty thrilled with the find. :)
