Another $200 in singles today, and again, not a single star note. I check the production numbers, and there doesnt seem to be any large drop in star note printing.... so where are they all going?

I did find a radar today, so it wasnt a total loss :D 200A L 74899847 J in maybe very good.

Not sure where they've gone but so far there hasn't been a single star in my last $700.

Nice going on the radar! It's been quite a while since I've found one of those too.

Ok, just read this. Sounds like I have a few hundred more before I match your drought. We'll see what happens this weekend. Cool find with the 1977A. I have only found 1 70's dollar bill in $13.5K worth of searching.

    What comes in a strap

How many bills come in a strap for each $ dollar type?
What would I pay for say I wanted to search $5 bill?

a full stap is 100 notes. so $5 strap would be $500. that is why most people go through singles straps.

2 $100 straps, and not a single find. No stars, not older dates, no ladders or radars, no webs, no errors - although i did find a single 1995 note, but had a BP of 165. I try to buy at different banks, at different times, and on different days - still no luck.

Got a bit of a break today. Searched $200 1's and found 2 stars (five bills apart) both in AU condition. The F-2006 is a 640K print run. Also found a 1988a & 1981A in maybe fine condition, and two trinarys (nothing special but still fun to find).

cashed in coin that i searched through today and got a 1985 $50 bill! But... is it worth any premium? It's barely worn, but have no idea how to grade paper.

Oh wow I never heard of strap searching. I just recently started roll searching and I think this is more interesting to me. Does anyone have any info on what I should be looking for?

look for whatever you want to keep... i love finding star notes, radars, ladders, repeaters ect. some folks also look for birthday notes or other fancy serial numbers.

I found a 1969D $1 Star note from the Philly bank. C00912057* Is this a rare one? It's heavily circulated and has an ink stain, but it just feels wrong to spend it.

Hi, just stumbled onto this thread. It's fascinating. I'm going to start searching paper moneybut don't know where to start. Is there a primer or something i can read to get up to speed re: what to look for? what's valuable?

BTW, at a local auction for $30.00 total I bought 64 quarters 1934 - 1964 in whitman folders with a melt value of $213.00. Haven't checked collector value yet.
