I agree with the others. MA07444470A is a True radar, having the District and suffix block letters match always makes 'em sell. Slight wrinkles and a fold on the upper left corner, I'd say it's in XF condition. Excellent find. I'd also keep the 2 star notes that are in better condition as the 10$ in the middle won't carry a premium in that condition. More interesting as all the repeating numbers are grouped, but not very valuable, and not for the 20$ investment. In collecting it really comes down to 2 things: Do you like it enough to buy/keep it at face value; and would it have value to others. If it's cool to you and you can afford to hold onto it, then keep it, maybe save up more and then use them to buy something you you really want or something that can appreciate. On eBay you'll find people listing "trinary" serial numbers as being "fancy", but serials consisting of only 3 digits are quite common. They'll only have value if there is something more to the serial, such as: being a repeater (22312231); a ladder (11222333); or a radar (12322321). Modern 20$ notes are also not very widely collected.
This was a fun strap of $2 bills from the bank. 5 red seals - 2 of them were stars and one was from 1928!
I went to one bank to get quarters. I asked if she had any old money by chance. she produced 6 20's she read the dates and the only ones I would be interested in is the 2 63's she had. but they were dirty and in rough shape. then I asked if any had stars, and then...WAM BAM THANK YOU MA'AM. the 74 had a star and is in decent shape other than the ink blots in each upper corner. then I went to a different bank down the road and got the 1963 A $10 and the 1935 E $1 silver certificate ALONG with a WHOLE box of UNC homestead quarters LOADED with doubled dies. that's another thread for another time.... but what a day
all you have to do ask if they have 2's.... or any old or funny looking money. as for the older 2's that is good fortune.
Sure thing bryantallard. A little context... I ordered 8k from a BOA in the northeast in late 2014 and the 4 bricks did not come from the Fed this time. The straps indicated that they were processed at the Guardaworld CVS (Cash Vault Services). Four bricks of 2s that came below: There were 13 total read seal notes in all 4 bricks above. Here are a few pics of the ones from the first strap of the top left brick: Of the 13 red seal notes: - 3 from 1963 - 9 from 1953 (two were star notes!) - 1 from 1928-D Also noteworthy: - 499 notes were from 1976 (125 average per brick) 5 times more than the average Fed Brick. I was able to put together a nice district set in near UNC condition. - 16 other Star Notes - 3 from 2009 - 1 from 2003A (low serial number too!) - 7 from 2003 - 1 from 1995 - 4 from 1976 - 1 Radar note - 1 Four pair note - 3 notes from uncut sheets (serial number is 99xxxxxx) - 1 Five digit solid serial number (ex xxx55555) - 2 M/D/Y Birthday Notes - 6 D/M/Y Birthday Notes
thank you for sharing. very nice....I got 5 once from a teller that were all 53's but none looked as good as yours. congrats. I would appreciate if you could school me real quick...how do you know 3 are from uncut sheets? why is the 99 significant? thanks
Modern notes are printed with serial numbers from 1 up to 96,000,000 with an "A" at the end before the number resets to 1 again but then ending with a "B". Numbers above 96 Million indicate that they were sold in uncut sheets and typically start with the numbers 99 or 98. This is a note I found from an uncut sheet: The above note starting with 99 likely came from an uncut sheet of 16 or 32 notes looking something like this: You can cut these uncut notes at anytime and spend it as real money. The BEP sells uncut sheet money in every denomination at a moderate premium. http://www.moneyfactorystore.gov/uncutcurrency.aspx
Great day for stars. 6 straps of 1$ and found 6 stars in total. the One* of most interest is 2009 B06401192* (Good). The creases, folds and some sort of dark marks sadly and greatly tears down the value, but it is still the smallest size Run that I've come across with only 32,000 printed and may still fetch some sort of premium, idk. If only it was XF or AU.
Searched 4K in $1 bills from the bank. All in Fed sealed bricks processed April 1st 2015. Here's the highlights: 1 Binary Note 7 Birthday Notes - 5 M/D/Y format (one is a future date) - 2 D/M/Y format 1 Four Pair 1 Radar Note 5 Round Numbers - Will only keep the top one. 11 Star Notes - 3 were Medium Run notes (640K)
Last week I was at the bank and noticed the teller had about 5 Morgan Silver dollars. I asked her where she got them. She said some girl came in with a bag full of them. She told the girl that they were worth more but she didn’t care. I asked her how many were in the bag and she said she wasn’t sure but she personally got 15 or 20, and everyone else took several. The bag also was full of silver coins that she just put in the coin counter. I feel bad for 2 reasons. 1. Someone obviously lost their collection. 2. I missed out on all the silver that went into the coin counter.
1000 1$: 1$ 2003A B08735616* (VG) 1$ 2009 B11242479* (VF) 1$ 2009 B00000071H (VG) and also found a 5$ 2013 ML00882678* (XF) in my register and a 28.53 gram sterling silver bracelet laying in the parking lot. all-in-all a good day.
I found 13 $2 United States Notes at a bank yesterday. This was the first time in about three years where I found more than one red seal $2 at a bank. They were printed in Series of 1953, '53A, '53B, '53C, and '63.
Found a few goodies strap searching. 400 in Ones at the bank and 800 in Ones at work, Crisp and still in BEP straps, yielded 3 nice notes: 2013 1$ A50725072A (Gem Unc) 2013 1$ A47677476A (Gem Unc) 2013 1$ A47677674A (Gem Unc) Out of 1000+ in circulated Ones yielded 6 stars, with only one noteworthy: 2009 1$ G03611036* (Fine)
I normally dont search bills but I got 65 dollars in singles from the bank today for a game. (1) 1963A (1) 1988 (1) 1993 That is officially the oldest bill I have ever found in circulation. Previously that was my 1973 20 dollar bill. Is there any common errors i should look for in dollars?
