My favorite teller had five silver certificate singles waiting for me today: Series 1935 D in the WF block, series 1935 E in the FH block, and three series 1957 in the SA, VA, and AB blocks. Doesn't look like any of them are particularly rare, and the condition isn't too good. The 1957 SA is the best of the bunch. I'll post up some pics later.

Whats cool about star notes?well for me star notes are cool in the sense that when looking for a bill with a star whether your strap searching or just getting a buck back from a cup of coffee...you have the potential to find a note that has a relativlely short/low print run.640k or 320k are what generally makes a collectors day.some star notes are common while others are very rare and hard to come by but still can be found by means of a dealer.i imagine its not much different then the feeling a shipwreck diver feels when they've come across sunken treasure and literally have struck gold after of which have spend many days and hours searching to locate that special find.To have in your hand from finding in circulation a modern $1 bill that has mismatched serial numbers with a star...you know you have struck gold cause you know theres someone out there that will pay alot of money for your find. But only if you can and are will to sell it....to me thats pretty cool.

These are all teller pick ups:

$20's: 1969 L-A and (2) 2009 JF-*'s (consecutive CHCU, teller said he had 100 consecutive of them but he had to spend the other 98).
    $10: 2004A GL-*
    $1's: 2 G-*'s

I would post pictures, but they are always too big and when I try to adjust the size using photo editing software, they get blurry/too small. I use my iPad to post on here so a scanner is out of the question.

Picked up a strap of circulated ones in preparation for some garage sales tomorrow. Nothing too exciting. Oldest was a series 1993 LJ, newest was series 2009 LK. Lowest serial is on that 1993, with 01262133, highest was 2009 L94123113A. Everything was from full or nearly full blocks; no stars.

BTW, anyone know what the codes on the strap mean? It's a Fed strap with "L1 CP_263 D2 07" printed on it, followed by the date and time.

Did you try simply cropping out the background? I do that when I don't have the time to spend on it.

I usually don't collect fancy serials, but that one is pretty cool, esp. for a star note!

A true binary, very nice. 00101000 converted to decimal = 40, converted to hexadecimal = 28

This was the only change I received in my last two purchases. It's kind of weird, but not complaining!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
