Red Seal Five What is it about the red seal that is so alluring? Why is a seal and serial numbers in red so enticing? I don't know, but they are. I got a very well circulated (no crispness, many folds, and one pinhole) Series 1963 Five at the bank today. It wouldn't get much over face do to its condition, but it is definitely a keeper. Whew! I just finished reading all 16 pages of this thread. Pretty good stuff. I haven't bought a strap of notes in 2 or 3 years. I'm a fan of $2 notes. A couple years ago I bought a case of Girl Scout cookies and paid for them with CU $2's. Folks are fascinated with $2 notes and it's fun to spend them just to watch the expressions. I was buying coin rolls at my local credit union and I'd search and re-roll and return for trade. One of the tellers told me there's another guy that does the same thing. He beats me to the bank each time. I felt I was getting his culls. <shrug> As for stars, we save each one no matter the denomination. If nothing else, it's money saved and close at hand. Good luck to all you strap searchers......I'm going to start again very soon. Cheers!
Hi- I don't really search (but I might just start) I had a $110 cash to deposit in the bank today, and there was a $20 * note. It's 2004 and moderately worn. Is this something I should hold on to? (I really kinda needed that 20 bucks):rolling: What is the premium for a recent *? Thanks!
Bank run today and my teller sold me (at face) the following $1 star notes: 2001: L01881580* 2003: K00677734* 2003: B06485994* 2003: F06299939* 2003A: E03331454* 2006: G00396738* 2006: B09831748* bob
After finding my first star note several weeks ago I have turned into a note searching junkie. This week I searched about 10,000.00 in ones, fives, and tens. I found 18 common star notes, a few ones from the 60’s and too many fancy serial numbers to mention (none are probably that fancy). I also found my first radar note and a 1963b Barr note.
