Strange looking penny

    It looks like a 1973D. The pic looks blurry because the Penney does. There is an imprint with lines on top of Lincoln. Any ideas how this happened? I’m new to this so it isn’t obvious to me.

    I could be a capped die strike.
    You need to provide a better picture.

    Coins aren't printed so it can't be an imprint.

    Looks like a very very late-stage struck thru a Capped Die -
    looks like there is weak, enlarged lettering from the blockage.

    Too blurry to be 100% certain, but I think that's what it is.

    You just might have something there. Nice job on posting a full size photo of the reverse. Now post another full size clearer image of the obverse.
