Hello everyone, Just wondering if someone could tell me what would cause a dime to look like this, I googled error dimes but couldn't find anything like this. So thought I would ask the experts! Thank you
Wish I'd taken some in-progress shots of the 1964 half-dime (one piece of a dime that I cut in half) that I dissolved in nitric acid. Unfortunately it was before digital cameras, never mind cell phones.
A good example of acid corrosion. Acid is indiscriminate and works on all surfaces and devices the same, showing an even loss of material across the whole coin.
