Not sure this is an error, but possibly. Anyone else run across cents like this? Haven't gotten a chance to weigh it yet but it's probably been plated right? Not magnetic. Any thoughts?

    Plated, dull

    They're usually 'brightly' plated

Very curious what medal was used plating this, and why. I thought it was a steel cent when I saw the obverse, until I flipped it over o_O

I also say plated. If it doesn't stick to a magnet then it is not Ferromagnetic. It's not a Steel Planchet.

Do you have a Gram Scale? If it weighs 3.11 Grams +/- a few grams it's a Copper Cent. Steel and Aluminum weigh much less.
