Howdy Chapdog - Welcome to the Forum !!

If you weren't a new member you would likely have seen my thoughts on this many times over. But in a nutshell - if your coins are worth preservation to you - then I always think it is worth $1 each or less to buy the best holder you can to store them in. In my opinion that's an AirTite (that's a brand name) holder. Others have different opinions and prefer other holders - to each his own.

As for your safe and the materials inside it - I can't really say without knowing the specifics. But most types of glue, many types of synthetic carpets and other materials do put of vapors as they age. And these can often be harmful to coins. But if you can place your albums, folders, boxes whatever inside an airtight container you should be fine. Also be sure to use some large silica gel pacs to keep the moisture down.

Well I store my older flat-pack proof sets in a type of PVC-free photo pages you can find at Wal-Mart.

I also get the baseball card pages that go in a 3-ring binder for my slabbs--works great.

The pages for the flat-pack proof sets also work for mint sets from 1955-1978.

If anybody wants the name brands of the pages or a photo you can PM me.

All of my other coins are stored in many ways--most have already been mentioned.

    GDJMSP,
Thank you. So given that most of my better coins are in Dansco albums is there a inert airtight container appropriate/made for those? I'd hate to break all coins out of my Albums.

It sure sounds like KM#106.2, a 27.0674g .9030 silver carrying a book value of $25-150, depending on condition. The M with a circle over it is, of course, the Mexico City mintmark; the F & M are the correct mintmaster initials for that design and year; and so is the legend - Charles III by the grace of God on the obverse, and King of Spain and India on the reverse.

Let's see that picture to confirm and grade it.
