I thought it was always funny.

Anyways, I gotta get back to seeing why there a horse image printed on a quarter I found in pocket change. Must be a mint error.

You know what kind of horse is on the Delaware twenty-five cent piece? A quarter horse, of course.

And horse coins aren't printed, they're foaled. See if your coin is one where a horse die was foaled on a donkey planchet; these are called mules and worth a lot of money.

    (I'm sorry:troll:)

Minor disagreement here, if a scientist is proven wrong, he will acknowledge it and use it as an opportunity to learn.

I agree. I spent most of my career as an R&D scientist and in most instances, discussions were cordial and both sides learned from each other; even if we didn't agree. Being a good scientist is to approach a subject with a bit of scepticism and use data and facts to be convinced.

I don't care how folks spell or if they use proper grammar. That's not important. I do care when members don't know what they are talking about and post false information.

Many new collectors and members believe everything they read on the forums and repeat it in other threads. False information needs to be corrected.

Members need to be sure of the information they post. If they are not sure, they should be asking questions and not posting something as fact.

The long term collectors/members take a lot of heat for trying to correct false garbage that gets posted here. It boils down to this. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't post garbage.

What??? Someone disagrees with me? My spirit is broken! Anyone have a spare teddy bear? ;)

Seriously though, I'll never understand the deep desire some have to agree with each other on pretty much everything from the mundane up. To me it would be a boring existence and akin to living in an intellectual prison. In truth, some of the people I most respect also happen to be those I disagree and/or have disagreed with and simply because they the ones who challenge me. Sadly, it seems like those who feel this way are a dying breed.

Unfortunately, I often think one of the bigger problems, at least on a forum, is misinterpreting intent. Let's face it: smilies only go so far, well, expect for Insider anyway.

If only we all practiced or at least embraced what we preach...

I agree, and do so myself. But the scientist first has to agree, acknowledge, that he was proven wrong. And that, that's the hard part.

Now some are probably going to scoff at that comment of mine where I say I do so myself. But I can back it up. Here's a screen shot of 3 pages of posts where I have done so.

And there are many, many others where I used different phrases admitting I was wrong.

The interesting part is how many others can say the same thing ?

Now, and for the sake of fairness, now show us how many times you've pigheadedly insisted upon being right, even in the face of evidence to the contrary. ;)

While some of us will admit our mistakes across the board, the same cannot be said for everyone here. Some ignore it, some deflect, and some hide behind whatever they can. It is what it is.

A lot, but why ? Because I dispute the so called evidence, most of which is nothing more than opinion.

I agree, kinda. The majority of the time most will simply not admit it - ever.

How many times you ever admitted to being wrong Books ?

Doug, I'm pretty sure he's got a good lead on you there, even if he doesn't have a stock phrase like "I stand corrected" to use as an index.

BTW, one more correction: look at your screen shot, and you'll see that the word "I" isn't contributing to the search. ;) (XenForo's search apparently also does some sort of stemming, as it seems to match "correct" as well.)
