Very good idea. Keep an eye on eBay, and maybe go to a couple local pawn shops and ask around. I hate to say this, but the only time my family has had a break in was someone we knew. You may want to think about someone you know who is a little down on their luck(or have a drug problem) who knew you had the collection and knew you were gone.
Their is an unc 1964 den and philly mint set online, as well as some random silver in 2x2s - that's not what you're missing, is it??
