I have been in the same place you are do not call the police she could have a felony on her record for the rest of her life and that will be a lot worst then what the coins are worth. Also if she has already has been in trouble before she could get into some bad stuff good luck
my mother said to forget about the coins also . it wasn't the coins as much as the thought they had so little respect as to take some thing that has sentemintal walue to me buy only ment a incress in their checking account. to them money means more than family
real nice sister! :thumb: if my sister stole my coins and spent them i would probaly make her at least pay for the value of them.
Seems this is a good case for a good ole country butt whoopin. Stealin is wrong! Violating the trust of a family member is low life and not acceptable. She needs to be confronted and make it known that she got caught with her hand in the proverbial cookie jar. Good Luck with this one my friend, I hope things work out well. There is ALOT more at stake than a few coins here.
How the heck did she know these coins we're valuable to take them to a coin dealer to sell them?? What does she know about coins?? Did she take them back to the city she is living in to sell or did she take them to a local dealer in your area?? Something just doesn't seem right here. You say she doesn't have a job, how does she live?? I think she still lives at home.
Ok guys, I talked to her.At first she denied it, and then wanted to blame it on her ex-husband. I told her that all I cared about was our relationship and my money. I told her as long as she paid me back, I wouldn't pursue the matter any further (i.e. the police). She agreed to pay me back within the next year...so yeah, we'll see what happens now. Oh, and my mom was in there with me, and told me that I handled the situation flawlessly, so I was happy. =)
Good for you, for now anyway. If she really does pay you back, awesome. Hoepfully you can mend your relationship, and not be out the money too. I wish you the best.
I just read your story..all I can say is... Wow! I hope your sister pays you back every single cent. If this had happened to me..I would send her to jail..she would deserve a felony record. IMHO
Be Cool. Work with her. The comments about a FELONY conviction are serious. If you would go in that direction, that felony conviction has NO expiration date - it'll be on her record forever. SO, she couldn't get any kind of real job for the rest of her life. I know a girl who got fired as a Red Lobster waitress because the background check came back and it showed she had a felony. And this was for a WAITRESS job!!!!! I'm sorry, but a few Prez coins just ain't worth that. Especially if she's your sister.
