I can't say one way or the other because honestly I simply don't look at his listings or have any desire to do business with his firm after reading the comment he made on a thread about a tooled aureus on the Coin Forgery Discussion List:

Yes agree I have read and seen instances of that with this seller but mainly because if it is tooled he always mentions it unlike some of the others, I just stay clear of those type. CNG sells tooled coins too. (and if known mentions it)

Obviously standards vary. The Lanz attitude is business as usual in paintings and many other art forms. When we support those whose standards are in variance with our own, we ensure they will continue in business. Buy coins from people you feel good supporting. In the clip below there is a classic line where the restorer says she saw something wrong and she fixed it. I hope she is not into coins.

I've never purchased a coin from Ebay but the majority of the better items in my stamp collection have come from there -- like everybody here has said, actual knowledge of what you're buying combined with a healthy amount of scepticism and looking at the seller's feedback and other items on sale will take you a long way.

This heirloom was with Dekadrachm 2200 Year Old Coins in the First-Strike Misc Box of L. Cohen who passed 40 years ago. His assets included several 6 figure circulated coins / medallions street traded 1999 in Israel London & Philadelphia. This heirloom is so big n solid a freight train couldn't dent it; well maybe a train; it is sure to last another 2000 years, it is AWESOME x 1000 x 10 billion. It is god-like &b surely holding history taking next-watch of this asset of Noah's Ark.
