You guys who are into silver should be considering that the US Mint 2011 Silver Proof Quarter set, which contains .90424 Troy Oz. of silver. is selling for $41.95. So this means the silver in this set is selling for $46.39/oz. As I type this, spot silver is selling for $45.335/Troy oz. Since the Mint does not charge extra for credit cards and only charges $4.95 for shipping (no matter how many sets you buy) this is a pretty good deal. So I say Stick it to the Man and buy up before the US Mint reprices them. Rev. Rob would approve.
Yeah. Sorry about that. They withdrew the 2010 silver sets a couple of weeks ago that were selling for $39.
I imagine this is how those guys feel on To Catch a Predator. All excited until Chris Hansen walks out from the kitchen... Awwww.
You can buy them again! The Mint resumed sales of the 2011 & 2010 silver proof & silver proof quarter sets a few days ago after the price of silver was sundered. This is your chance to pick up a few before the price goes back up. Best deal is the 2010 silver proof quarter set at $39.95. You can bet that if silver crosses the $41+ mark again, these sets will soon disappear. As I type this, it's just over $39. If you believe in Silver, then you still get another chance to stick it to the man. These are a really good way to acquire some high quality silver, with almost no premium, no credit card charges, and extremely cheap shipping. These sets will also have a pretty good numismatic value on top of that and are very easy to sell anywhere.
