These new pick ups put me over my 20 coin limit for the first time. I now have several of the coins in my box for sale in preparation for obtaining an upgrade. No more purchases until I sell something! FWIW, the 20c “flying lady” was part of this two coin lot. I was mostly interested in buying the Unc 1 Lira

 

A curious thing happened with my box of 20. I've been selling stuff to fund this project (non-box of twenty stuff). Then I sold one of my coins in the box of 20. This gave me an opening to buy something "new". My most expensive coins are in worth about 3 times what my cheapest ones are worth. But I wanted to buy a nice U.S. Gold piece, and since it needs be slabbed, problem-free, and have good eye appeal, it would have taken me into new territory...like around 4.5 times what my cheapest box items are worth.

So what did I do? I chickened out. I felt I was trying too hard to "force a deal". Instead, another interesting gold half sovereign at a great deal fell into my lap, so I snapped it up for significantly less. I just feel like spending that much for just one coin was too much right now.

That being said, I feel like I got a great deal on my sovereign. More about that later when I get it.

 

All right so I’m not the only person adding to their box of 20. I’d really like to hear about your decision making. What are you replacing? Upgrading? What did you recently sell to buy?
