It appears antique shops may be a great place to look for silver deals. I just saw a jar of sterling silver “scrap” weighing 17.4 ounces (without the jar) sell for $145, when the melt was around $650. As I watched the transaction, I was waiting for the buyer to back out as he wasn’t sure it was a deal, but he bought it. This was at Victoriana’s Antiques in Cottage Grove, Oregon, so I’m a regular there now (someone isn’t keeping up on silver value). Anyone else have (or almost have) a great antique shop experience?
