Here is a Postmasters of America (Proof, Franklin Mint) Commemorative medal which was issued in 1974. Any information about it would be appreciated and why did they appear to depict Early Man apparently splitting stone or trees in a quarry of some type. It reminds me of (possibly) a scene from an ancient man site near Trippstadt in Germany.

    Thanks
    Ben

I'm virtually certain I've had a Postmasters of America set of Franklin Mint sterling before...but I can't remember when. You're right...the obverse doesn't exactly seem to fit with the theme, does it?
