Shortly after the construction (completed in 1861 as the medal says) it burned down, in 1867. But it was rebuilt according to the original plans shortly afterwards. In 1938 it was destroyed during the November Pogroms (see my <a href="https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1858-cathedral-medal-by-jacques-weiner.185674/#post-2102509" class="internalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1858-cathedral-medal-by-jacques-weiner.185674/#post-2102509">earlier comment here</a>).
