They happened to be in a Goodwill shop looking for old clothes (both are artists) and noticed the binder as it was being tagged for sale and snapped it up for $25.00.&nbsp; As you may have guessed by now, it was a collection of coins, mounted in 2x2’s.&nbsp; So begins my adventure into the realm of world coins.&nbsp; As if I don’t have trouble enough sticking to the several collections I already have going…not that I’m complaining.&nbsp; I guess that it was just meant to be.</p><p><br /></p><p>I would guess that the collection was started by some young person, judging form the printing on the 2x2’s, started in the early 70’s, judging from the number of coins from that time frame that are in real nice condition.&nbsp; There are 130 coins from 64 counties with dates ranging from 1913 to 1986.&nbsp; I got a copy of “Collecting World Coins” by Krause and Mishler.&nbsp; Great book!&nbsp; I highly recommend it.&nbsp; Today I looked up and located information on each of the coins I now own.&nbsp; Trying to be conservative in my grading of the coins, my best guess at the overall value is just shy of $85.00.&nbsp; Values ranged from $.10 to $10.00. I have to say, though, that I got much more than $85.00 worth of enjoyment out of the experience!&nbsp; I learned lots of interesting info about the various countries and the coinage histories of them.</p><p><br /></p><p>Happy New Year to all of you and I wish you the blessing of children, relatives or friends as thoughtful as those that bless my life.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
