I ended up going with thumbnails. </p><p><br /></p><p>I have an image program that will automaticaly save the original image down to 10% of its original size (as well as create my watermark at 100% for me) then i show my thumbnails all at the same dimensions on the page. with all the thumbnails at around 10-25 kb&#039;s, loading the pages is so very much faster.</p><p><br /></p><p>hows the code writing coming? are you litteraly writing the code in notepad, or do you have a GUI app that writes it for you?
