<p>[QUOTE=&quot;flintcreek6412, post: 1876464, member: 61025&quot;]I just got back into collecting after a 35yr lay off.&nbsp; I have always been and probably always will be a Type Set collector.&nbsp; As a kid I could never afford golf but always wanted one.&nbsp; So I began to put together my 7070 Type Set and decided to complete that childhood dream and bought a graded $5 Indian just to compliment it.&nbsp; I was almost paralyzed at the thought of spending that much on a coin, but gold was down($1190). </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>That Indian arrived and I was thrilled.&nbsp; I would just sit and look at it with intense satisfaction.&nbsp; A 45 year desire fullfilled.&nbsp;&nbsp; Not only is it gold, its and awesome Indian gold.&nbsp; It took me less than 2 days to decided I wanted the $10 Indian since it was another cool design.&nbsp; This was a bit more pricey and I have never, ever in my life spent that much on a coin.&nbsp; I was literally sweating bullets as I clicked the buy button.&nbsp; Done.&nbsp; Committed.&nbsp; No turning back.&nbsp; Holy crap, what have I done?&nbsp; That&#039;s a ton of money that could go a long way to fill a 7070.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>It arrives and as expected I&#039;m again excited and love the look.&nbsp; So I sit back in contentment as gold starts creeping up.&nbsp; I&#039;m thinking about the money these coins might make me.&nbsp; If gold hits X I will have more in gold than Ispent on them. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Then it hits me......The coin I really wanted was always the St Gauden.&nbsp; That&#039;s too much money.&nbsp; No way.&nbsp; Gold creeps up to about $1250 and I tell my wife I wish I&#039;d have bought a St G.&nbsp; Too bad gold went up. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Well, a week later it dipped a touch and I say now or never.&nbsp; If I wait and gold goes crazy(no way to predict) I will never be able to afford one of these.&nbsp;&nbsp; And then I was like a man out of control!!&nbsp; That week I bought a $20 St Gauden, $20 Lib, $10 Lib, $5 Lib and $2.5 Indian.&nbsp;&nbsp; LOL!!!!&nbsp; I&#039;m not made of money but I found a way to make it work without going into debt.&nbsp; Just a reallocation of hobby money for a while. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I&#039;m really glad I did.&nbsp; Gold has climbed which did affect some prices lately but not too much.&nbsp; I now have these coins and know the smaller ones I still need to fill, since somehow I&#039;ve now put myself into a gold type set without meaning to, aren&#039;t as volatile in pricing with gold since their content is so low.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>That&#039;s an awesome set you have but I&#039;d really work on filling the big dogs next because they have such a large amount of gold in them.&nbsp; If the price jumps to $1900 again(I don&#039;t expect it) you might be sad.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Now if it was me, and I&#039;m no expert like lots on here.&nbsp; Those $1 golds you have usually carry a huge premium over spot.&nbsp; I&#039;d consider selling/trading them toward a $20 if you want one.&nbsp; If gold goes up $500/oz the big coins will jump a lot, but those have such little gold content they likely won&#039;t rise more than $50-100ea when you want to get them again.&nbsp;&nbsp; Just a thought.&nbsp; You can still find lots of PCGS MS63 $20 Libs and StG for $1500-1600 even with gold up a bit. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>No matter what you choose, good luck and have fun.&nbsp; I love my gold page and so does my wife.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
