About 5 weeks ago I started a store on Ebay with Auctiva called Nationwide Currency (nationwidecurrency) and started selling off most of my collection that I accumulated since April 09. The reason for my liquidation of my collection was that it had no real order to the collection just random notes from every area of printed U.S. currency so I figured why not sell them and then concentrate on one area of currency for my collection.I started by keeping a log of every bill that was bought and the total of each bill. Then I posted over a five week period about 20+notes ranging in grades from an 8 to 66, my most expensive note I bought was a $5 1899 Chief silver cert. for $299 that sold for $425 now after all was done I made about $1,200 in profit (without losing one penny on all notes sold) and this was from selling bills ranging from $75 to $225 on average. All my bills were bought at auction and sold on ebay because of there overpricing of almost all U.S.currency.I just wanted to thank everybody on the paper money board that has help me with all of my questions about currency in the last 6months.I was a coin collector so that did help.In conclusion at this time in the currency market there is money to be made if you purchase your notes at the various online auctions.Being disabled I have not been able to attend any currency shows locally in the Raleigh,Durham and Chapel Hill N.C. areas. And I know if I was able to attend some shows I could even do better. The last thing is about the U.S. coin market and there decline in prices, you would be lucky to make any profit from selling coins at this time...Thanks Alot.Randy.B.
