Over the years I have sent two or three pieces back to the mint, but the most common grade I get is PR69. I don't buy many circulation strikes from them so I won't comment on the MS grades. I am happy to anounce that this PR coin is a 70. This makes only the third 70 I received from the mint in the last 5 years. It even passed inspection with my stereo microscope at 20X, and I am very critical when it comes to grading any currency. I haven't been too keen about buying much since they went to laser technology. I see a definite difference between my engraved ASE Proofs and those made with laser. There is no way to compare commemoratives however, since they were struck with dies made either one way or the other.
I think the proof is beautiful. The waved flag effect on the reverse is what I had hoped for, in person versus on pic.
