Star or Chi- Rho

    Hi. This bronze coin of Emperor Honorius is listed under RIC IX Nicomedia 46 c. It's the only coin among this series with " Gloria Romanorum" on reverse.But mine has an additional sign under the globe held right by the Emperor on reverse. It looks like as star or a Christogram. I don't know, but it's not listed there. The coin weighs 3.97 g. I appreciate your comments. Honor Xi.jpg Honor Star R.jpg

    Have you checked out the Excel file with this type?

    There are two varieties of this coin recorded for Honorius, one with a star in the right field, one without. The meaning of the star is unknown.

    Catbikes (like WW also run by Dane) has RIC lists in excel format that are more thorough than the WW website. You'll need Microsoft Excel or a similar program to open the files though.

    7C, if you don't have word, you can open the files on a Hotmail account via the sky drive...that's what I did for a while.
