I'd probably go XF-40. About $90 if I'm right on the grade (will let people with more grading expertise weigh in on that). Worth a bit more if it's XF-45... not quite sure if it's that good.

    Looks pretty nice to me.

@Troodon is spot on with the grade.

I like the Type 1 very much. This coin has an odd pinkish hue.
Either that's from the lighting, or it has been cleaned.
You see how the center is much lighter, and the devices around the
edge/rim are much darker on both sides. XF-details.

I also think XF40 possibly XF45. Around a hundred dollars. Nice coin.

I did a quick iphone edit to see the obverse better. Full image is easier for the members to see than thumbnails.

If it doesn't straight grade, it's half that suggested value from post #6.

I'm in the 35-40 range. Her asking price seems reasonable but you could make an offer.

It's been improperly cleaned. No matter how desirable this coin is,
    you can't fix that.
Even if she didn't clean it, someone did, and it's a poor job.

I like the looks of the coin. Good, honest wear, so you can hold it and think of all the hands it went through around WWI and the roaring twenties, until someone decided to put it away. There is plenty of detail so you can easily appreciate the design.

My first thought was $80, so I would feel this would be a good thing to have at $75. When a “better” price involves only five more dollars or so, I just think of giving up one coffee. Is it worth that much difference in the final price to have it or lose it?

Enjoy your decision. If you get it, be sure to enjoy it!

    He's talking about flipping it.
If he pays $75 and sells it for $40 that's a bad deal.
It might look nice but it's damaged by improper cleaning.

Here’s one I paid 84.75 for. It is almost certainly cleaned and retoned. But I liked the look and had planned it as a gift.

So the purpose and appearance may make a difference, so just ask yourself if that makes it worth it, or would you rather wait for another to come along...

It's true that cleaning was routine many years ago, and yours looks better than the
OP. Yours may have retoned and be market acceptable.
The OP coin was scrubbed. The luster is gone. It's way too light in the center.

Mr. Sanderson's coin Even though it's been cleaned and retoned that is still a very nice looking coin. I myself would keep it! But i'm a hoarder;)
