Man oh man, Playing pool tonight in an APA tournament. Put $10 bill in for change and heard a high pitch ping. My first Standing Liberty from change. Literally, change for a $10 bill. I also won my match 3-0. Good luck quarter?!
I got a 1964 d silver quarter in change its pretty close to mint makes me think someone spent it from a collection.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I received a 1945 wheat penny in change this week and I was ecstatic. I would probably pass out completely if I received a Standing Liberty Quarter in change, which has never happened to me. Wow.
Can't even start to remember getting an SLQ in change. At least 50 years ago...and most of them were in similar condition with the date worn off.
Still remember getting a 1912-D half in change, also about 50 years ago. Still have it if anyone wants to see.
Thanks all for sharing in the excitement! This definitely ranks up there with my other top finds in circulation. 1950-D nickel 1944 no P Henning Nickel 1890 IHC 1901 IHC 1909 IHC
@cpm9ball will appreciate this one. I am sure he has found his fair amount of silver quarters shooting some 9 ball.
To be honest, I got more silver dollars from playing 9-Ball as a kid in the late 50's & early 60's. I would take a lot of my winnings to the bank and get Morgan dollars at face value. Chris
The SLQ was occasionally found in circulation up to (about) 1963, but I never encountered one in circulation with a discernible date.
I got standing liberties and walkers with dates on my paper route from 1962 to 1965 I could not afford to save dollars and halfs as I was making between 3$ and $5 per week off my route. Didn't find any Indians in rolls until 2015. Wife found three in the coin drop at a restaurant when she was a cashier and gave them to me.
