There are five coins below, spot the authentic coin. The winner will be announced in one week and they will win bragging rights. If no one guesses correctly by the 18th, I will add a clue.

My guess is that all 5 are counterfeit?
The 1912 Indian is real gold, but a very deceiving counterfeit?

This makes me sad. I really wanted to get into the older coins. But I wouldn't know if any are real for sure.

Do your due diligence. Find a type that you like and research it so you'll be an educated buyer and less likely to make a bad move.

I'm going with the 1/2cent. Nothing standing out to me and it has even wear across obv and rev.

    Morgan - china cast

Eagle - looks genuine to me.

DDO Cent - mushy details and the doubling doesn't look consistent.

Half Cent - looks to have casting bubbles and very mushy details.

Standing Liberty - no 1934 for the series.

Morgan -- Looks Cast, smells cast, but my aging eyes could be fooled by the small image. Since I was able to find articles identifying the rest as counterfeits, I guess I have to go with this one.
    Eagle -- Looks a lot like: https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/4486/counterfeit-coins-/
DDO Cent -- Looks a lot like: https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/2778/
Half Cent -- Looks a lot like: http://www.coinworld.com/news/us-co...-cent-not-struck-but-cast-from-molds.all.html
Standing Liberty -- Looks a lot like: https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/1674/

The gold looked real to me, but you are right, it matches that one exactly. Pretty good fake!

Honestly thought it was rude of him to post those links, basically hijacking my thread and ruining the fun for other guessers. It should go without saying that you shouldn't use google to get a contest right.

Google should always be used. I wish more people would use it. Isn't that what it's there for?

It's great on his part tracking down them all. Especially matching photos. A wise man using the tools at hand.

Usually contests have rules and I didn't see any laid out. I commend him for the efforts.
