This is my first post, and I'm new to the coin world. I'm a traveler and bought this coin in Peru a few years ago, not as a collector's item, but as a good luck piece that I carry with me when I travel. However, I am curious of it's value. Please help me determine what it's worth (if anything as I suspect that it's fake).

I have done a little research and here are some observations:

1. the clearly stamped "CAROLVS II" on the perimeter indicates the time period: 1665-1700. What seems like the date at the bottom of the same side is possibly 1706, which is inconsistent with Carolus II's reign. 2. Many of the spanish colonial coins I've seen have "HISPANIARVM" on them, and this one has "hispaniav.rm." 3. The P8 on the crest side means a Potosi or Lima minting, and the II on the other side indicates 2 reales. All of the symbols on the crest seem consistent with photos of other coins I've seen. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks- Marcus
