    Those are superb!!!
A few years back I was lucky enough to win a print in the lottery at the Boston Show.
Perhaps I will rescan and post later on..
Thank you for sharing these here!

I bought this at the CSNS a few weeks ago. I know gsalexan likes locomotives and has acquired prints from Michael Bean. At first I thought this one was posted in his reply # 610, but this locomotive cut is different. No passenger or freight cars, a little shorter smoke stack and guides on each side of the headlight. He included President Lincoln, the CSNS being held in Illinois, plus The Civil War was Friday's theme at its lectures. It made for a nice souvenir. 003.jpg

Way cool Tokyo card, Chris! The printing looks so crisp -- is it intaglio?

The Educationals are some of my favorite cards, affordable even if the real notes aren't (for me, at least).

And the Lincoln/loco card is another looker, Salty. I'll have to give the train vignette some close study to see if it's appeared elsewhere.

I'm so glad to see some new posts on this thread!

The large vignette (11.3cm x 10cm ) on the right side of the card is a very nice intaglio, but not the color facsimile litho of the actual note on the left side. They also have a booth at the show (mainly for kids) to experience intaglio printing.

No photos at the venue site are allowed, but below is a page from the TICC program guide:

Great stuff! I'll share this info with the Souvenir Card Collectors Society.

I did some checking on the Insatu Choyokai Foundation website, using a clunky Google translation. It looks like there were 1,500 cards issued this year, costing 1500 yen (roughly $15). There was at least one other card printed last year (below). I'd be curious to know whether there have been other intaglio souvenir cards, but there was no apparent way to contact the foundation by email. Chris, any ideas?

I picked up another card I've been chasing for a while. This is B282, issued at the Long Beach Show in Sept. 2006. This was one of the last souvenir cards where the BEP featured a reprint of actual currency, during the phase when they stamped "Specimen" on the note (in case you didn't notice it was blue). The note shown is the back of a 1923 $10 U.S. Note, which is a pretty rare piece, and the California state seal that shows up on many of the early Nationals. I also scanned the info card that came with it, for more details.

I finally got some information from the Japanese National Printing Bureau about the souvenir cards they produced for the Tokyo International Coin Convention. They are awesome! They've been putting out cards since 1992 and I believe all of them feature high-quality steel engravings from paper money. I'm requesting more information and will post when I hear back. In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on the entire run of cards at this link:

Time to give this thread another bump. I'm not sure this next item qualifies as a a souvenir card (it's not a souvenir, per se), but it shares many of the same properties. It was produced by the American Bank Note Co. and the vignettes show up on other cards, bonds, and obsolete currency.

Following the Civil War, many Northern states honored their veterans with award certificates. These are huge certificates, on par with the award diplomas issued for some of the early World's Fair expositions. Much too big for a single scan, but here are some photos. This one is from New Hampshire, but I've also seen them from Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey and Massachusetts, all by ABNCo. I suspect there may be others. There are also a couple Soldier's Monument Associations with similar membership certificates.

If you're aware of other pieces like this please PM me!

It's interesting that the ANA issued these private cards (non-engraved) outside of a stamp or coin show -- at least there's nothing on the card to indicate it. I wonder if they sold them directly from the association's headquarters.

The Bureau of Engraving is currently in the planning phase for the 2015 intaglio print (souvenir card) program. I inquired whether the planning committee ever considers suggestions from collectors and was told that they welcome them. So I sent in the following ideas. I would be interested in hearing thoughts from other collectors on whether you support these concepts and if you have other suggestions that could be submitted. Send me a private message if you'd like the email address of the BEP coordinator for this program.
    ------

2015 marks the centenary of the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition, held in San Francisco. This presents an ideal time to release the third and final reprint of the large-sized World Expo certificates: the 1915 Panama Pacific Expo award diploma. In 1988, the Bureau released a reprint of the Centennial Share certificate from the 1876 Centennial Exhibition; in 1992 a reprint was issued of the 1893 Columbian World's Fair award diploma. The BEP created an intaglio print of the central female figures from the 1915 PPIE certificate in 1994, but it has never been reissued in its entirety.

All three of these massive prints represent some of the best intaglio work ever produced by the Bureau. The previous two generated a great deal of interest by collectors; a reprint of the 1915 diploma would be equally well received. As with the 1876 reprint, segments of the engraving could be printed individually on separate cards. Columbus' portrait was used on three intaglio prints in 1992, however Balboa's portrait has never been reprinted. The standing woman in the center would make an eye-catching individual print, as would the steamers and cherubs in either of the lower corners. There couldn't be a more timely moment to reproduce this stunning piece.
