The vertical format one in post 283 is really cool!

The only thing I don't like about the modern cards is that they have this ghost image in the background that makes it hard to view the plate just as it is by itself.

I'm starting to realize how many of these I have.

If I could only get good pictures to show of my coins you'd see more of them too.

Very cool trio you just put up! I have that $5 back but I'd really like to put that Sheridan on my list too! Seems like 2001 was a good year for SC card designs!

Yea I like how there are 2 different notes with Sheridan and I put them right next to each other.

That last Jackass note being a Specimen is rather cool too. It's a real nice example and the embossing is so deep its just great.

The high quality printing of the SCs are something I really feel fortunate to have available, inexpensively, to use to educate myself with these designs as these notes are some of the ones I could never probably acquire in my collection, not without a huge lottery win.

Come on@@ People are living to 100+ now a days.
You'll have plenty of time to get these in high grade!!
Look at Rickey B, just get a good one every now and then and in a decade or two "bam" you've got a couple dozen great notes...that or yea win the lotto lol
AU's really are not THAT much in some of these and those still look very nice.
Enough dreaming...back to SC's that we have and can get :D

This is one of my all time favs. Gorgeous engraving. This was a very hot card when it was first released, costing more than $40 retail at one point. But someone had bought up a large horde of them and when they finally came on the market the price tumbled.

Hmmm....thanks for the update. I like the ABC ones by the Society of Paper Money Collectors. They seem to be more unusual subject matter then the others and the quality is tops on them.

Are there some of mine that are more "rare" or pricy then others?
And gsalexan what do you normally have to pay for these?
Thanks as Im just getting into them after admiring your guy's cards.

The newer Bureau cards (BEP), with specimen imprints, you're doing well if you can get those for $20 ea. They typically retail around $30. The American Bank Note cards, when you can find them, usually go for $5-15, except the ones from 1995 and 1996 which are rare. $5-10 for most BEP cards before 2000. But like coins, there are lots of scarce cards that bring more. Cards that had a limited run of less than 2,500 are going to be the keys.

I would use Ken Barr's listings as a guide. He now has scans attached, so you can use it as a visual reference: http://www.kenbarr.com/souvcd.html
