HEY ALL, so i'm going through about 2k in half dollars...all the silver coins have been pulled. just need to know any key dates to pay particularly close attention to... i've heard people say 71's for DDO's, 82's for missing "FG" initials...any others? i've also been dumping all non-silver bicentennials...should i not? thank you everyone!!! sorry if this is a repetitive question
OT , but congrats on getting that many. I can't get by bank to order any boxes for me. They flat out refused.
who do you bank with? if i were you i'd take 500 out and open one with chase. chase will do it for you no problem.
We're with TD. Funny you say that, I was just speaking with my wife about opening a Chase account. Have to look to see the closest to us.
1971-d there's a silver version (rare) 1972-p DDO 1973-d DDO 1974-d DDO 1977-d there's a silver version (rare) 1982 no fg Making money with pocket change is a good reference or cherry pickers guide volume 2 list a bunch.
Welcome. Also keep your eye out for 1982,1983 p & d mints in AU/UNC. And 2000 through 2015 in BU as they were not intended for circulation and I see the at shows for $1.50-$3.00 each. edit to add complete sets of AU/BU 1964-2015 sell on ebay for $150-$200
ok um what does "au/unc" and "bu" mean? lol i already know that in my rolls the 2001 halves are always the most perfect
don't forget die rotations ..there is a handful to look for look under the census page http://rotateddies.50webs.com/index.html
I can't believe nobody's mentioned 70-D. You're unlikely to find one, because it was only issued in mint sets and not many made it to circulation, but if you find an UNC 70-D, that's between a $10 and $25 coin.
OK so I found something unique... A 1972D half dollar with a very very light "FG" stamp... Actually quite I don't know what it is because only half the "G" is barely visible... I'll post pics in the morning
ok so here is my weird 1983P double die (rim) PLUS no "FG" on back... WHAT ARE ALL OF YOUR THOUGHTS? is this thing worth anything?
