"VAM" stands for Van Allen / Mallis, two guys who TRULY "wrote the book" on Morgan and Peace dollars. One would think all coins on a given date / mint, such as your 1921-P, would come off the mint press identical. But they don't ! There are many minor varieties for many reasons. The bottom line is this... due to very minor oddities, such as a double-punched numeral in the date, some Silver Dollars are worth much more than others of the same year / <edit> mint. Van Allen and Mallis are two amazing men who powered through many thousands of silver dollars and catalogued many, many varieties, each with it's own VAM number. Sharp dudes; we are much in debt to them.
Nice coins man, I think you did ok. Might have overspent a bit, but hey, if you like the coins, then you did just fine. :thumb: But, is it just me, or does the breast of the eagle look a little funky? Phoenix
