I also think that this will become a discussion in our home as well. Ask the kids if they want the collection or would they rather have some cash equal to the value to their share. I think that there will be 2 that are interested in them, and 1 grandson has taking a liking in them. The girls do not seem that interested at this time , but they are interested in cash, I know that much. I have instilled that you achieve items that you like by working hard, and then first look after the important life issues. Then use a portion of what you have left for your social activities and hobbies. That part becomes after a certain amount of what you have left after the largest portion goes into a savings plan of some type, no matter if it is 20 dollars or 1000 dollars. How has it been working so far? For the most not bad , the toughest for the younger people today is the cost of living is a lot higher then it was for me growing up. So the savings part sometimes becomes the socialization , but they are doing well. This is an issue we are going to get settled really soon, as we all know, here today gone tomorrow. I really would like to see the coins carry on as an heirloom for years to come. A dream, most likely, but not impossible if you write up a story to go along with your collection about how the passion for coins has given me tremendous joy and frustration at times. Most importantly letting everyone know how much these have meant to you during your collecting days. Just my point of view on this important subject. Pleas let me know if you think there is a better way ,or if you can see what you think is a mistake on my part. I appreciate and respect the view of the members of this fine forum . (including James Bond 007)
