One of our long-time members, @Tom Maringer has been working on an interesting project that I thought I'd give anyone here who might be a Tolkien fan a heads up about. I've quoted some information he sent me below, the coins are really neat looking!
I'm a fan. I will have to check this out. I read the "Wheel of Time" fantasy series. It was very good. I'm thinking about getting a couple of those fantasy pieces.
The kickstarter is into its last hour as I write! I just minted up the last of the silver dalers yesterday. We have broken through the 80k stretch-goal and all backers at #3 and above are getting a whole pile of cool extra stuff! Most sets are already assembled and we should be hauling crates of parcels to the post office by week's end! The response has been phenomenal!
I would never do such a thing, working as we speak to put some of them into flips. I think Tom would rather see us carry them around loose to share with others but I just cannot bring myself to that level of handling. They are really cool and I'm not sure which I like the most.
Most of the older Tolkien-based coins are available on the website. http://www.shirepost.com The newest ones are here on this Kickstarter. Even though it's over, we have set it up with a backerkit so you can still order. https://www.kickstarter.com/project...ingstm-coins-limited-edition-of-1/description Saul Zaentz passed away several years ago.
