Hey guys I’m still new to coin roll hunting I came across this weird Nickel today. It looks like it was struck on a wrong type of coin. It almost looks sunken in on both sides. Can anybody help me identify I’ve seen a lot of beat up Nickels but nothing like this.

Looks like a "spooned" coin. The edge is beaten with a spoon (or a hammer) as the coin is rotated. Ultimate goal, cut out the center and make a ring.

That's a strange analysis. Just a damaged edge.
Altered.. Tap the edge with a spoon or hammer long enough and it will spread.

It's been spooned to make a ring.
