I just realized that I was about to type exactly the same response as @19Lyds. I'll be interested to see how widespread this problem is -- whether they were just having a problem with the sealing machine one afternoon, or whether it's inherent to the new slab design. Sounds like someone(s) at PCGS is going to be having a very bad day.
Bad day at Black Rock. On a different topic, did anyone else--from the quick peek at the bust half think that it shouldn't be in an MS holder in the first place? Might have been shadow, but sure looked like rub on Liberty's face.
Man, if I were PCGS I would REALLY be concerned. What is stopping someone from replacing the coin with a whizzed example, resealing it, and then making a claim against their guarantee?
I think the coin is graded properly. One thing is for sure , this new "feature" makes it a lot easier to take a close up pic.
This pic looks much more like an MS coin. In the video it looked much more like broken luster and a dark rub across Liberty's face. Nice looking coin.
yikes. Even if it was a short term problem, think of all the coins that could be taken out and replaced with fakes or problem coins, then resold as graded examples.
Ruh Roh!! Glad all the (8) coins I have graded with them JUST missed the changeover ... I felt the complete, opposite way up until 5 minutes ago!
Man, that is just a stupid, stupid ad to run. Toned "red" cents will prove they are not airtight. As a man who cleaned many fish tanks when I was younger, I can assure you that the contents of a fish bowl is not what you want to have come in contact with your coins.
