Can't remember if I shared these before, oh well it's been a while. Anyway tonight as I was putting some of these in new holders and baggies, I photographed them to share. Some of my best metal detecting finds came from one yard in a old house to the north of me built sometime in the 1880s. I walked home with a pocket full of change from the 1880s. Amongst it was a barber dime I got $25 for. This is the oldest coin I pulled out of the yard, it's from 1767. Here are a couple more coins I found in the yard from 1819. This area was settled some time in the 1860s so I doubt that these coins were dropped in their date ranges. The original person who owned the house was a Swede, and they were probably his Grandpa's or something. Also in my town I found this, and it's really cool. A Illinois watch company medallion.
