These coins come in two styles, related to the RRC 50 anchor series and related to the RRC 72 corn-ear series; this is in the latter style and is the 60 as denomination that accompanies the gold 20 as Sicilian corn ear type (there's no 60 as with corn-ear symbol known)</p><p>- RRC 44/4 gold 20 as: this comes in the other, rarer, style, related to the RRC 50 anchor series</p><p>- RRC 44/5 and 44/6 denarius and quinarius are in the earliest style on especially large flans</p><p>- RRC 56/1 dupondius is extremely rare, most examples coming from one of two hoards found in the 1900s and 1920s. It is ex RBW coll. ex C.Hersh coll. ex Glendining (19 Jul.1950) lot 461 Henry Platt Hall coll. ex Hamburger 96 (25 Oct.1932) lot 273 = Hersh Overstrikes NC 1953 p.53,62d (this coin)</p><p>- RRC 56/2: excepting this and the dupondius, all the other RRC 56 types are McCabe group G1 or G2: notable about the 56/2 are the excellent surfaces, strongly engraved dies and strong strike excepting one flat area.
