We got Subway cards for Christmas, so I might invite bro and dad over for Subway lunch or supper sometime this week and move on.

Yes, this is very good and it is not the same as agreeing with his point of view, especially since you, @Johndakerftw , do not. But we should be able to understand the point of view of others if we can put ourselves in their positions.

Years ago my brother and I didn't speak for six months over some stupid argument, even though neither of us really remembers how it even started. I just said sorry to him one day, and he said sorry back, and it was over.

Used to fight with my brother when I was younger. Now that I'm older, I'm more mellowed out a tiny bit, he is still a bonehead though.
