This was sold as a "small German coin". Small it is, 16 mm and 0.4 grams. Obverse says (I think) "1558 Solidus", and maybe "PRUSS", with a big "FW" monogram. Can't make out the reverse except for the eagle.

Standard Catalog only goes back to 1601. Anybody know what state/monarch issued this?

The FW makes me think its a Solidus of Friedrich Wilhelm, elector of Brandenburg and Duke of Prussia (the Great elector) ruled 1640 to 1688
