Anyone these days making a 2X2 (or whatever) size snap-together capsule with some kind of adjustable or otherwise modular cushion to hold odd sized coins?

    Say, old tokens or ancients?

Not sure I fully understand the question, but I'm kind of interested to hear what answers you get.

I see what you're asking. No i don't believe there is anything for weird sized or oblong coins that i know of. Seems you have to get kind of creative. Personally, i use envelopes for my ancients, and dollar sized air tites for my off center wheats.

I have tried modifying world premier coin slabs for both but it can be difficult.

Hmm... they offer those foam rings 1mm at a time so that's probably the answer.
Anyone offer the same thing only in a square (not round) case?

If you don't mind the occasional rattler, you can use the Lighthouse Quadrum holders. I believe they range from 14-41mm by 1mm increments. If you need a 13mm, you can get an air-tite A-13 ring and put it into a Quadrum Half Dollar holder.

My collection is heavy on world coins, and I've never failed to get an exact fit with Air-Tites.

Not aware of anyone who does the same concept in a square format.

Edit: I wasn't familiar with the square Lighthouse holders NPCoins linked to.

The quadrum 50x50 capsules also come with a uncut foam insert so you can cut it for odd size or shaped coins

Guard House Tetra sounds like what you're looking for - they're all 2x2, but come with various sized cutouts in foam inserts - you could probably buy a smaller size (dime, cent) and cut the hole to size for your particular coin, or just adapt one of the larger sizes.

I cut slivers of the black ring material to hold odd-size rounds in air-tites.
