So far so good in 2021

I try to be somewhat contrarian, attempting to go against the wave of favorites, but I am increasingly finding that even the less favored coins are now becoming favorites as well, so I fall into the mainstream with lots of other folks.

A good example is the rather common Justin II and Sophia folles. Retail prices for these coins seem to be on the rise, even for only so-so examples.

Welcome to a hot market for ancients.

I had to commit budgetary heresy to purchase this late transitional owl, still in the postal pipeline.

You've collected more in two months than most of us collect in a whole year!
And a very nice haul it is too. Congratulations! The Aspendos and Tarentum both look yummy. :)

I'm keeping a low profile for now. Bidding's ferocious, and looking for a specific coin in that feeding frenzy...Good luck.
Until things settle down ( as I'm sure they will, hoping they will, praying they will) I'm happy to stay in the periphery, where, on a good day, a good deal still can be found.

I picked up this one at opening bid. Lurking at the fringes sometimes pays off.

Yes, it’s enough for a while now :)
Like your coin shows; good buys can still be had. The only coin I went over my limit with was the Anastasius. However, I think there have been a lot of nice coins on the market too. I guess the price levels makes it interesting to sell, which is good.

I wish I had something to sell!:)

I find it easy these days to pass if the price gets out of hand. Not a good time to be chasing a particular coin. ( Having said that, I do have my eyes set on something in the upcoming CNG auction. Fingers crossed.Hope springs eternal...:D)

What a beaut! That hairstyle is so unique I really wonder what it looks like IRL. Almost seems like pigtails? It also looks to be in 3 distinct directions altogether; must have taken ages to put together.

Wow! You've been an active buyer! Handsome additions to your collection, for sure!

I've been primarily buying coins for my Faustina I and II subcollections and buying with a passion. I've picked up a couple of rarities/curiosities already this year. It's going to be hard to come up with my top 10 list this year.

Wow, @svessien, you are on a tear! Those are some seriously pretty coins. I can already see you having a challenge on your hands when it comes time to put together your Top 10 of the year list. I'm on pace for my slowest year ever, with only 8 coins added so far. Still, that's better than no coins at all. :shame:
