I dedicate this thread to @SensibleSal66 because he's as snowed in as i am, right now. In waiting for the "Big Dig" to begin after 4pm when the snow is scheduled to taper off, I'll be looking at my 1945P silver war nickels. I recently discovered one or more may have a ddr that i knew nothing about. @Lem E @Lehigh96, any nickel people, do you happen to have an example of your own? Thanks!
Hopefully, I'll be posting pics as the lighting gets better. That's means, I've found something ;).
Any other snow-ins eyeballing coins to fill the time? Post pics of what you're eyeballing, please!
I actually found this, on the sidewalk outside a bodega on my block. Not a nickel, but interesting to see it's a "type 1 filled S"! Who knew?!

I'm using this 15-20 inch snowed in day to burn through the most recent Coin World Feb issue cover to cover as lights allows!

Paddy54 Hey brother can you spare a half dime?

Ok its time to hopefully to enlighten nickel collectors.
Lets start with war nickels..... there are hundreds of DDO's,DDR'sOMM's RPD,RPM...etc etc....the 1943P is the poster coin for RPM's like 70 known! And guess what you can down load the entire RPM book free to your device. 43 P DDO yup a few....over dates yes again. I believe that the rpm book is available on variertvista.com

And another fact....1942-1945 Jeffs probably accounts for half if not more varieties....it be harder to find a war nickel that wasn't a variety than one of the better ones known.

There's tons of information out there....google is your friend......just yesterday I turned on senior member to a site to attribute his H~10.
The web book on war nickel varieties can be carried on your phone handy at a show.
One of the keys to become a cherrypicker , do your homework before....but confirm your homework is correct.

We only got an inch or so down here in MD. My wife's family is smack dab in the 2ft+ up near Boston.

Here are a few frosty CRH finds. Stay warm!

We just got hit with the storm here in the Wash, DC area.
    Almost 1".
Now it's just cold for this area (22°F) and windy (30-40 mph)
Chesapeake Bay Bridge closed to panel trucks and any others that have a large profile.

Glad I don't live in Massachusetts anymore.

Hello all. It's 45° in my neck of the woods in FL.
I really don't know how you all function in this weather up North. I'm on the porch having coffee and a smoke and my fingers can hardly type on my phone lol. It's supposed to drop into the high 20°s
on Sunday and is said we may even get snow flurries. So I can almost feel your pain:)

Be safe, stay warm and move to Florida as soon as you can. I will be waiting for you.

I'm glad you are sharing winter. A below average snowpack up here in northern WI but cold. I had -30 at the house a couple days ago. Probably a few more of those in the next week or two.
