At least in the context of this particular thread.</p><p><br /></p><p>I do not doubt that the dies used for these coins were special and I do not doubt that calling them SMS or Special Mint Sets is inappropriate but it seems that this is what the collecting public is willing to accept since it&#039;s easily digestable.</p><p><br /></p><p>If some type of documentation can be uncovered to absolutely prove otherwise, then it appears that these coins will always be referred to (accurate or not) as SMS coins.</p><p><br /></p><p>If you ask Roger Burdette, he moght put it on his list of things to look out for while he is doing his research. I know that I asked him to keep an eye out for Eisenhower Information and he found some really cool stuff which got posted over on the IKE Group web site.</p><p><br /></p><p>It&#039;s worth a try.</p><p><br /></p><p>P.S.
