Caleb, the red Don't post emails publically was entered by the CoinTalk admins who do not want email addresses posted due to spam crawlers. It was not added by David Hall. That particular text "used" to be Davids public email address which appears openly on the PCGS Forums. As for the conflicting reports? Nothing is new with regard to conflicts within PCGS as it seems that everybody has an opinion. However, I'm sure that David Hall's opinion outweighs Jaime Hernandez's opinion. At least in the context of this particular thread. I do not doubt that the dies used for these coins were special and I do not doubt that calling them SMS or Special Mint Sets is inappropriate but it seems that this is what the collecting public is willing to accept since it's easily digestable. If some type of documentation can be uncovered to absolutely prove otherwise, then it appears that these coins will always be referred to (accurate or not) as SMS coins. If you ask Roger Burdette, he moght put it on his list of things to look out for while he is doing his research. I know that I asked him to keep an eye out for Eisenhower Information and he found some really cool stuff which got posted over on the IKE Group web site. It's worth a try. P.S. On PCGS CoinFacts, Jaime does refer to the Washington Quarters in the context of Special Mint Sets. http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/CoinDetail.aspx?s=5974&g=1
