small s and big s?

    What are you using for your reference?
    There are some good threads on this nickel on CT by Lehigh.

    The very first photo, the bottom serif on the S is the key.
    I am not suggesting cleaning this coin, but it is obscured by (dirt?)
    if that dirt were removed, perhaps you could identify the MM better
    by the link I provided in my first post. Maybe put it in distilled water?
    Or acetone? Then you might be able to see the serif on the bottom part of the S better.

    I cleaned it with warm water only. Either way the width from top to bottom looks different to me on the small s. And in the first photo the s is defieltly symmetrical exactly what's stated in that information. Would you guys agree with that point?

    If it has a pronounced triangle on the bottom serif, then it's a large S which is a good coin.

    There are all kinds of prices for this coin on EBay depending on condition.
    You'll have to surf around.
