Large date, right? 1970-S Lincoln Cent

Same coin, different lighting & angle...

I'd also welcome grade & price opinions (FWIW, I believe it's a proof coin). Thanks.

Large or Small date Proof. Also could be proof like business strike 1970-S
If graded this would help price wise.

Yep, it is a large date. Look at the tail on your 9. And, yes, it is a proof.

Compared with similar TPS-graded coins on ebay, to my slightly-experienced eye it looks like I've got a PF66 or PF67 Proof Cameo.

That means it's price isn't in the $100's, right? Then I guess it's not worth slabbing.

    No matter, I'll keep it.

Bought it in the 80's for $0.95. Really like the toning and cameo. Just need a good camera -- cell phone photos don't do it justice.

If coin is grade in this areas
Ngc PR 67 Cameo maybe with a Plus could be worth it. But it's your money.

Maybe, maybe not. How close does it come to looking like these?

BTW, they did something to the packaging (or some of the packaging) for the 1970 proof sets. I have seen a bunch of these and have one personally.

Mine looks practically identical to those. So maybe I'm right, PF66 or PF67. But I guess NGC is strict about the Cameo designation.

It's interesting to me that the ring-toning is only on the obverse -- and looks the same as mine in these samples. I thought toning was more random.

I added these to my Watch list. If they sell for those prices, I'll definitely consider slabbing.

works fine for me, but I am not sure eBay is doing anything anymore.

Still undecided about slabbing (I've never done it before).

And I really appreciate all your comments & help.

I would put it back and decide in the future. It needs to come back at 68 Cam or better to make it cover the fees. All that changes if it's something really special to you and you just want it in a nice holder. I do that sometimes because I'm in love with the coin.

Large date, not worth slabbing IMO. If you want a slabbed one, it'd be cheaper to buy one.
